WELCOME TO THE LATEST WARWICKSHIRE RUGBY NEWS:-

JUNIOR CUP
Update on finalists and finals day under Warwickshire Mini, Midi & Juniors. Finals to be played 15 April 2018.

JUNIOR CUP
just a reminder that a forum will be held at Barkers Butts Next Tuesday (20/2), 7pm.
Agenda
1. review of 17-18 competition. This is a forum for you to express your opinion on how its gone.
Please be constructive. A general whinge about something without offering a solution is not overly helpful. Remember the kids first ethos. We really don't want every solution to be 'disqualify them'!
2. Presentation of draft 18-19 Competition rules. Believe it or not we have paid attention to the feedback we have received this season, and hope the draft rules cover all of these.
3. Hopefully - 17-18 finals details.

SHIPSTON RFC
Many people in the Warwickshire rugby community may have known Mark Ashworth. He was a long standing member of Shipston RUFC,former club Chairman, and a coach in M&Js for very many years. Mark had been battling with Cancer for a number of years, and very sadly lost this fight at 11:30 yesterday night (17/1/2018). He will be greatly missed by a large number of people within SRUFC, and I’m sure the wider rugby family.

WRFU - COUNTY RUGBY SAFE OFFICER
There is a need to appoint a person to the above volunteer role within the county. The successful candidate would oversee the duties of pitch side safety for all county representative sides. The rugby safe officer would ensure that those people providing pitch side duties and immediate care were properly trained and held the correct qualifications.
The rugby safe officer would keep a register of those people providing immediate care and also handle a budget for training to ensure correctly qualified people were available to provide this care.
The position does not require previous or current experience in immediate care but an enthusiasm to provide proper care for the participants in county rugby. Contact Charlie McGinty for further information/interest - 07801 869730

SAFEGUARDING
Please note from Jane Waterhouse -
I have had to change my email address to janewrfu@gmail.com

DISCIPLINARY
Will all clubs please remind their players about the need for keeping discipline on the field of play. So far this season we have reach 15 incidents, including several quite serious ones involving the Police. The RFU are aware of these figures and are concerned, as WRFU are, about rugby in Warwickshire.
If you feel you need support from the Warwickshire Discipline panel coming along to your club to talk to your players then please let me know. Also a reminder that if you have a red card issued please text or email me within the 48 hour time period and let me know.
Kim Challis, Disciplinary Secretary.

ENGLAND RUGBY DEALS
Many of you will be aware through sendouts and perhaps involvement yourselves with England Rugby Deals that is a buying house arranged by the RFU to support clubs in securing discounts on items such as insurance, stationery, toilet rolls, furniture etc. All clubs can sign up to receive updates and access to the on-line portal to view the offers available http://www.buyersgateway.co.uk/englandrugby.html Given the start of the season it may be worth arranging a send out to clubs reminding them of the
