‘Double Tops’
We are continuing ‘Double Tops’
The competition is for all non first team league players although regularly ‘benched’ and players returning from injury are allowed to play from Midlands 2 and 3 league clubs, as well as first team players from Midlands 4, 5 and non league clubs.
Players do not have to become members to encourage others to play.
Warwickshire North and Warwickshire South Pools
Each pool will start in September and finish in November. These are double header sessions on Wednesday evening, kicking off at 7.00pm and 8.00pm. We will schedule the evening depending on the number of clubs participating. We will endeavour not to clash with other events.
At the end of the ‘Pool’ stage there will be the Finals for the Pool Champions and Runners-up.
Clubs are encouraged to treat their XV as separate team with its own captain and ethos to cater for players unable to get a competitive game on Saturday, an opportunity for second fifteen and colts players to develop their gamee, to interest and retain the mature player, those unable to play on Saturdays, and for others to develop their game.
Warwickshire Don Robbins Cup and Shield Competition
All the competing clubs will then be invited to enter into either the Warwickshire Knock-out Cup or the Shield competition; this will be determined by their rankings in the ‘Pools’. This part of the competition is also played under floodlights midweek and will take place in February and March. The final will be a double header evening and the Don Robbins Cup, Shield and medals will be presented to all finalists. Kick offs will be 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
This will continue as last season with North and South Pools in the autumn working towards the county knockouts stages in the spring.
Please respond with the information required below by email, complete the slip and forward it or give it to Bob Jones or John Cummings at the Fixtures Secretaries meeting on June 10th but not later than June 30th. Late entries will also be considered but we should like to have an idea of the take up as soon as possible.
